Steps to Integrate Solarwinds with AlarmsOne:
Following are the steps involved to integrate solarwinds with AlarmsOne.
Steps to be followed in AlarmsOne:
1. Sign up for AlarmsOne service and log into your account. Click on Applications icon in the left panel. Click Agents and then click Add Agent(+) to download the agent (or) poller.
2. Once download is complete, install the agent on the machine from where it can reach Solarwinds.
3. Once the agent is installed and registered with AlarmsOne, click on Applications icon and click +Add Application at the top right corner of the window and choose Solarwinds.
4. Select the registered agent which is deployed on the Solarwinds Server.
5. Input all the details specific to Solarwinds (Agent, Application Label, Application and Host).
6. Click Add to add the Application to AlarmsOne.
Note :
For Solarwinds, the poller has to be installed on the same machine where SolarWinds Application is running. Poller installed on the Solarwinds and Nagios machine can also be use to poll the OpManager, NetFlow Analyzer and Application Manager.
Steps to be followed in Solarwinds:
Following are the steps involved to configure Solarwinds Advanced Alert Manager.
1. Click Start and navigate to Solarwinds folder in the All Programs and run the Advanced Alert manager.
2. In the Advanced Alert Manager, click Configure Alerts button in the home page.
3. The Configure Alerts pop-up window shows different kinds of alerts that has to be triggered. Here, select Node goes down,Component goes down,High Packet loss monitoring & High Reponse time monitoring and click Edit.
4. The Edit window has multiple tabs, here select Trigger Actions tab and select Import Action.
5. Here, you need to browse the Action files corresponding to node, component, packet loss,response time provided by AlarmsOne. The file will be under OnPremise installation<OnPremisePoller\AlarmUtilities\solarwinds\>. Select Component action file for Component Alert and Node action file for Node Alert and similarly for packet loss and response time.
6. Click on Reset Actions tab and select Import Action.
7. Here, you need to browse the Action files corresponding to node, component, packet loss,response time provided by AlarmsOne. The file will be under OnPremise installation<OnPremisePoller\AlarmUtilities\solarwinds\>. Select Component action file for Component Alert and Node action file for Node Alert and similarly for packet loss and response time.
8. Once the above steps are completed, AlarmsOne starts receiving alarms from Solarwinds.
