Steps to Integrate Microsoft SCOM with AlarmsOne:

 

 

To integrate Microsoft SCOM with AlarmsOne,follow the steps below.


 

 

Steps to be followed in AlarmsOne:


1. Sign up for AlarmsOne service and log into your account. Click on Applications icon in the left panel.

 

2. Click Agents and then click Add Agent(+) to download the agent (or) poller.

 

3. Once download is complete, install the agent on the machine from where it can reach  Microsoft SCOM.

 

4. Once the agent is installed and registered with AlarmsOne, click on Applications icon.

 

5. Click +Add Application at the top right corner of the window and choose Microsoft SCOM.

 

6. Select the registered agent which is deployed on the Microsoft SCOM Server.

 

7. Input all the details specific to Microsoft SCOM (Agent, Application Label, Application and Host).

 

8. Click Add to add the Application to AlarmsOne.


 

 

Steps to be followed in Microsoft SCOM:


 

1. Open Microsoft System Center Operation Manager.

 

2. Click on Administration at the bottom left.

 

3. Expand the Notification menu and select Channels.

 

4. Create a New Command Notification Channel and specify the name as AlarmsOne.

 

5. For the "Full path of command file" enter the below mentioned path.

 c:\windows\system32\windowspowershell\v1.0\powershell.exe

 

6. For the command line parameter, enter the following command:

-command "& < path to 'alarmsone.ps1' >" '"$Data[Default='not precent']/Context/DataItem/AlertName$"' '"$Data[Default='not precent']/Context/DataItem/AlertId$"' '"$Data[Default='not precent']/Context/DataItem/Severity$"' '"$Data[Default='not precent']/Context/DataItem/TimeRaised$"' '"$Data[Default='not precent']/Context/DataItem/Category$"' '"$Data[Default='not precent']/Context/DataItem/ManagedEntity$"' '"$Data[Default='not precent']/Context/DataItem/ManagedEntityDisplayName$"' '"$Data[Default='not precent']/Context/DataItem/ManagedEntityPath$"' '"$Data[Default='not precent']/Context/DataItem/Priority$"' '"$Data[Default='not precent']/Context/DataItem/ResolutionState$"' '"$Data[Default='not precent']/Context/DataItem/Owner$"'

 

Note :

Specify the Absolute path of the AlarmsOne poller directory <Alarm_Poller_Home/AlarmUtilities/Scom/alarmsone.ps1>

 

 

7. Specify the Startup folder for Command Line, it should be as follows:

<Alarm_Poler_Home/>

 

8. Click on  Finish.

 

9. Next, under the Notifications menu select Subscribers, then click New.

 

10. Enter AlarmsOne for the name and select Next.

 

11. Select Always send notifications and click Next.

 

12. Next Click Add.

 

13. Enter the Address name which will be AlarmsOne, then select Next.

 

14. Use the drop down menu under Channel Type and select Command.

 

15. Use the drop down menu under Command Channel and select AlarmsOne , then select Next.

 

16. Click on Finish.

 

17. Under the Notifications menu select Subscriptions, then click New.

 

18. Under Subscription name enter in AlarmsONe, then click Next.

 

19. In the Subscription Criteria, select the criteria for you want the Alarms to be fired from SCOM and click Next.

 

20. Click the Add option to add a subscriber to the subscription, then click the search button.

 

21. Search for AlarmsOne and add it.

 

22. Now on the Channels, search for the AlarmsOne channel that is created already and add it.

 

23. Select the option to send notification without delay and verify your configuration and click Finish.


 

Note :

For SCOM, the poller has to be installed on the same machine where SCOM Application runs. Poller installed on the Solarwinds, SCOM and Nagios machine can also be use to poll the OpManager, NetFlow Analyzer and Application Manager.
